(edit: Okay I came back for more because I'm still super impressed and wanted to expound upon a few things. I also wanted to fix some typos n' such. I was in excited ramble phase when I first did this)
This was pretty solid! I really enjoyed the clearness of each motion in the animation. If the voiceover weren't there, I'd be able to follow along either way, which is really impressive.
The cinematography of this is INSANE. I absolutely loved how dynamic the shots were. My favorite sequence outside of the ending, visually, was definitely when the characters started stretching outside of the black borders of the animation. Stuff like that is just cool.
The character designs are also really cool! I think I took a special liking to the covert ops man. The way he was stalking from above and then swooped down, getting STRAIGHT to business was sick. Although he was an antagonist here, I def took a special liking to him just because of how clean he was.
The fight choreography was ALSO really really cool! The fight between the head honcho main mask and the covert dude was spectacular. It was so, so damn cool when main masked man ended up using a SHOTGUN as a TONFA. That is an absolutely sick concept.
I also really loved that you can tell that the head honcho main mask guy seemed like one of those robbers with a heart of gold. He had no problem stealing from the bank, sure, but he made sure the lady that was there didn't get hurt. He showed more resolve to make sure she was safe than the police, it seemed. That just makes the character so interesting!!
Oh, and the endingβdonβt even get me started on the ending. I absolutely loved how he didnβt want to go down without a fight. Him falling into the flames with the crucifix in hand is also really intriguing imagery and def gives context behind the name of the animation. Love it!
Oh, oh, and the music. The music was spectacular. No bit of sound felt out of place at all; it was also a massive vibe!! This project was simply great! Can't wait to see more!
